What you can expect from our blog…
I decided that if I was going to write a blog I would only do it if I could think of topics that would actually interest people - we make and sell handmade jewellery, we love our jewellery creations and think they are great, but I don't want to write post after post explaining the virtues of what we sell and why you should buy it, buy it now, buy lots of them! - I believe our jewellery should speak for itself and I don't want to bore the pants off anyone who might actually take the time to read this. So in summary, don't expect a lot of selling spiel from our blog - I'm not going to put anyone through that!
What I do want this blog to be is about "us", our philosophy, our journey, what we've learned along the way. I also want it to be a go-to guide for anyone who is looking for help to turn their passion/hobby into a career by setting up and running their own online gift or jewellery business. So we'll be sharing loads of jewellery making tips and tricks along the way, as well as creating a catalogue of in-depth jewellery making tutorials that you'll hopefully find informative whether you're a skilled artisans who's been in the trade for many a year, or a novice jewellery maker who's just dipping their toe in for the first time.
We now have a very successful business (for which I'm truly thankful) but it wasn’t always like that, we actually started our business from home, which was a cramped 2 bedroom terraced house at the time (and when I say "cramped" I really do mean it!). We used an old (and exceedingly slow) laptop to run and operate the website from, we used our kitchen table as a packing station and we didn't even have a phone line at the time, never mind broadband - which makes running an online business a little tricky to say the least (but more on that later).
